After nearly a decade of it being in the air, the Community movie has gotten a very promising update from star Alison Brie. The two-time Golden Globe nominee starred in the cult favorite sitcom as Annie Edison, a strait-laced young woman who was a nerdy high student in high school and developed an addiction to Adderall in her desperate need for success. Annie attends Greendale after attending rehab for her addiction and struggles to recapture her high school success while also befriending the varied study group, including her former high school crush, Donald Glover's Troy Barnes.
Alongside Brie and Glover, the main cast for Community included Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Chevy Chase, Jim Rash, Yvette Nicole Brown, Ken Jeong, Jonathan Banks and Paget Brewster. Created by future Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon, the series ran for six seasons on NBC and Yahoo! Screen and scored largely favorable reviews from critics and audiences alike for its unique characters, intelligent writing, meta humor and the performances of its ensemble cast. Despite its positive reception, the show struggled in the ratings, resulting in its cancellation after season 6 while talks of a Community movie have swirled following both of its cancellations and now fans of the series may have exciting news coming in the near future.
