Action-adventure game Kena: Bridge of Spirits is set to receive a free, major content update on Sept. 27, alongside finally being available to purchase on Steam.
The game was released on Sept. 21 last year for PS4, PS5, and PC, but the Epic Games Store managed to grab it as an exclusive on PC. However, as IGN reports(Opens in a new window), on Sept. 27 that changes as the exclusivity period clearly ended and the game will appear on Steam for the first time. For existing owners of the game, Sept. 27 is also important because developer Ember Lab is launching a major, free update called the Anniversary Update. The new content includes:
New Game+ is for anyone who has completed the main game and wants to play through again with everything they unlocked (abilities, upgrade, etc.) available from the start. The combat encounters will also be more challenging second time around.
Spirit Guide Trials - a new game mode consisting of replayable challenges including Obstacle Courses, Wave Defenses, and Boss Reflects.
Charmstones - can be individually equipped and adjust stats and/or abilities.
An exclusive new outfit for Kena
As a reward for completing the new Spirit Guide Trials, the game will unlock new outfits for each character Kena meets, as well as color variations of each outfit and some unique Charmstones.
Anyone who purchased the Deluxe Edition of the base game already had a number of extras included with the experience, such as a unique staff, golden Rot skin, sticker sheet, unqiue celebration hats for Rots, and the digital soundtrack.
