EA Sports has detailed the upcoming Ultimate Team mode, revealing that players from past and present football will be in it as well as what fans can expect.
EA Sports revealed that, in addition to players of today and retired legends of the past, College Football Ultimate Team will also include active NFL players.
This means current superstars like Patrick Mahomes, Davante Adams, Joe Burrow, Stefon Diggs, and more will be in the game, similar to how NCAA Football 14 featured active NFL players in its Ultimate Team mode.
Outside of players, EA Sports also detailed some of the core modes in College Football 25 Ultimate Team. Similar to its Madden counterpart, College Football Ultimate Team will see players creating a team of their favorite players to compete with either online or offline.
In order to get better cards, players can complete a variety of challenges and objectives to gain coins, which can then be spent on packs or at the in-game auction house for players.
Like Madden’s Ultimate Team, College Football 25 will feature a “chemistries” system, letting players build up their team beyond just player skill. Chemistries can be tuned to fit a specific playstyle that gives boosts in the game, and things like offensive and defensive schemes can be set to ensure you have the exact right system for your team.
Players will once again be broken up into different rarity levels, ranging from common (grey) all the way to legendary (gold), with rarer cards having significantly better stats and abilities. EA Sports also revealed that each week leading up to the start of the 2025 NCAA Football season, the game will be highlighting stories of past big weeks, similar to Madden’s “Team of the Week” content in Ultimate Team.
