You only start with one insured weapon slot for DMZ, but here's how you can unlock more slots and get your insured weapons back faster.

Even if you've played in the past, Season 4 of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 completely changes how you unlock insured weapon slots and reduce your cooldown penalties. Players who already unlocked their additional weapon slots won't need to repeat this process again, but things just got easier for those who haven't been able to complete the grind.
You initially start DMZ with one insured weapon slot, which is the only weapon you won't lose if you fail to extract. This guide will help you unlock two more insured weapon slots, so you'll have even more weapon options. We'll also talk about how to reduce the cooldown penalties when you fail to extract from the match.
Here's a full guide to DMZ weapon types, but basically, the custom blueprint you place in your insured weapon slot is the only item that you won't permanently lose from a failed DMZ mission. However, you do get penalized for not successfully extracting from the match. This penalty is usually a one or two-hour cooldown timer, meaning the weapon is unavailable for a period of time, and this can be a bummer if you don't manually upgrade your options in the menus.
Season 4 overhaul's DMZ menus, and you'll now see an Upgrade section next to your mission tab. The weapons locker inside the Upgrade menu will give you the option to unlock a second and third weapon slot, as well as give yourself passive cooldown abilities for these insured weapons.
