Cities Skylines 2 DLC sold with the game’s Ultimate Edition has been delayed so that developer Colossal Order can prioritise performance improvements and bug fixes.
The PC version of the game was released last month with various issues, while the console version was delayed until spring 2024.
And on Monday, Colossal Order announced that its Expansion Pass DLC has been pushed back so that the studio can continue working on improving the base game.
“Once the PC version is where we want it to be, we will be focusing on the console release and DLC content,” said CEO Mariina Hallikainen.
“We are committed to bringing the marketed DLC content to you, but it will not be landing in the originally promoted schedule.
“The first Asset Pack, Beach Properties, has been worked on by our artists’ and our outsourcing partner, but we’ll only implement them after the asset fix and performance work are completed to our satisfaction.
“I apologize for the delay, but we must not rush new content out before the base is ready for it. This also stands for the Content Creator Packs and Radio stations. Stay tuned for more information on these later!”
The Asset Pack (Beach Properties) previously scheduled to launch this year is now planned for release in the first quarter of 2024, while Creator Packs (Modern Architecture and Urban Promenades) originally targeted for early 2024 will now arrive in the second quarter of next year.
