CD Projekt has said it’s investigating issues some PC players are encountering following the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s next-gen update.
Released today for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, the patch is supposed to introduce improved visuals and performance alongside additional content and other new features.
But following the update’s launch, PC players have run into a number of technical <a target="_blank" rel=«noopener» class=«link-external» href=«https://twitter.com/search?q=witcher%203%20next%20gen%20update%20pc&src=» https:>issues
, which CD Projekt has now officially acknowledged.“We are aware of the issues PC players have been reporting since last night’s release of the update,” the studio said on Wednesday.
“We are actively investigating all of the reports and will be providing an update on particular issues as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!”
CD Projekt Red global community director Marcin Momot added: “While the team is working on fixing the issues PC players have been reporting, please make sure to have the latest NVIDIA drivers installed as it may help with some of the problems you’re experiencing.”
Following several delays and a change of developer, the next-gen update is now available as a standalone purchase for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5, and as a free patch for players who already own the game on PC and last-gen consoles.
In terms of visual updates, CD Projekt has said it includes ray traced global illumination and ambient occlusion, improved screen space reflections and foliage, better textures, plus FSR 2.1 and DLSS 3 support.
It also introduces “an alternative camera option that’ll bring you closer to the action”, a photo mode, quest fixes, and DLC inspired by the Netflix series.
