CD Projekt Red has said it’s currently investigating four main issues that have arisen following the launch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s next-gen update.
Released on Wednesday for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, the patch is supposed to introduce improved visuals and performance alongside additional content and other new features.
But following the update’s launch players have encountered a number of technical issues, some of which CD Projekt officially acknowledged earlier this week.
In a follow-up on Thursday, the studio listed four of the most commonly reported issues it’s currently investigating and called on fans to keep providing feedback.
It said it’s currently working to address game crashes on PC and low ray tracing performance on Intel GPUs.
CD Projekt is also trying to establish why some players who own The Witcher 3 on Origin are unable to update it, and why the game’s expansions aren’t available on PS5 in some regions.
It advised PC players to ensure that they’ve installed the latest available drivers for their graphics card and system, including motherboard chipset drivers.
Following the update’s release, PC players can access two versions of The Witcher 3. They are the DirectX 12 version, which includes all graphical improvements and ray tracing features, and the DirectX 11 version, which lacks ray tracing support and some general graphical improvements.
“Players with less powerful hardware who experience performance issues might want to consider playing the game using the DirectX 11 Version,” CD Projekt said.
“An alternative temporary solution for issues with Ray Tracing for PC players on GOG and Steam is rolling back to an earlier version of the game.”
