The next few weeks are shaping up to be an exciting time for Call of Duty: Warzone players, as the battle royale is closing in on the launch of Season 2 of Warzone Pacific. While the new Warzone season doesn't start until February 14, Raven Software has already begun to update the game. Among the areas being addressed by the developer is Loadout Drops, a major point of frustration among many players.
Part of Warzone since it launched in March of 2020, Loadout Drops allow players to call in loot, including perks, weapons, and equipment to use in battle. However, things changed arguably for the worst with the introduction of the new Caldera map. With the start of Season 1 of Warzone Pacific, the developers decided to make Loadout Drops only available for purchase by players after the first public Loadout Drop. Many complained that this slowed down the pace of the game as players often were forced to wait to engage until they could purchase better gear. Fortunately for fans, the developers appear to have finally listened to their complaints.

In a tweet from February 3, the developers at Raven Software revealed that a new update for Warzone had recently gone live. Among the changes, the developers detailed a revision to the way Loadout Drops function in standard battle royale matches. According to the developer, the system was being reverted to how it operated during its time on the Verdansk map. With this update, players can now purchase a Loadout Drop from Buy Stations at any point during a game, as opposed to having to wait until later in the match.
