The devs of Call of Duty: Warzone have some strong feelings about the state of the game and they're not very positive. Although Warzone is a massive success, players have grown increasingly upset with the game with every update. Even though issues are getting fixed, it feels like more significant ones pop up in their place. Bugs, cheaters, balancing issues, and more all impact the game and as Activision attempts to integrate other Call of Duty titles into Warzone, it continues to get worse.
With that said, Infinity Ward confirmed Warzone 2will be launching sometime in the near future. It will be built on an all-new engine with Modern Warfare II as its foundation. Infinity Ward appears to be developing the new version of the battle royale with long-term sustainability in mind, but it's unclear if the developer will make more Warzone sequels in the future. Either way, the game seems to be a direct answer to players' issues with the game.
