The Call of Duty team thanks fans in a blog post, revealing that the Modern Warfare 2 open beta had the most players in Call of Duty history. The team assures fans that this was only a small sample of content that is on the way for the game, while including that those who digitally pre-order Modern Warfare 2 will get to play the campaign a week early on October 20. Shortly after the game's release, on October 28, Warzone 2.0 will arrive free-to-play on November 16. The almost one-month time span will give fans plenty of time to prepare for Warzone 2.0 season 1 release before then. The blog post describes that after Warzone 2.0 goes live, the next big release is Warzone Mobile, which is launching early next year.
