With the open beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 now live, many players are finding that matches are being ruined by cheaters and hackers. Unfortunately, this issue has been all too common for recent entries in the Call of Duty series. In fact, previous betas for Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard had similar issues, while the wall hacking and aimbotting problems that plagued Warzone has been well documented already.
While cheating has been a very common issue in recent Call of Duty games, many players likely expected the issue to be minimized thanks to the addition of Activision's Ricochet anti-cheat system. For whatever reason, that doesn't seem to be the case as Modern Warfare 2 beta players have been finding their matches to be ruined by hackers using tools like aimbot for perfect headshots or wall hacks to see where players are at all times.

Clips have been appearing online, including a TikTok posted by MW2 Beta Plug on Twitter. The short clip is from the perspective of aModern Warfare 2 cheater who can clearly be seen using wall hacking to identify where enemy players are, and then when aiming down the sights at them, using aimbot to score an easy and quick kill. The player is also on a fairly lengthy killstreak, reaching 27 kills prior to the video ending.
Other places, like the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 subReddit has also seen new posts about hacking issues during the beta phase. One post created by PunchUrLeg features a video clip showing a player getting a drop on another player, before getting taken out suddenly from seemingly nowhere in particular.
