Bungie is changing up quite a lot of things for Destiny 2's Witch Queen DLC, but dedicated players will remember that the game will also be hosting its Season 16 content alongside the expansion. Developer blogs have, so far, been showing how the game's meta might change with the new season, with the latest reveal being that of two «new» weapons being added to the Nightfall loot pool.
Nightfalls are essentially hard-mode Strikes in Destiny 2, and adding new loot to the playlist has been key in keeping players happy. With several available difficulty modifiers, and the opportunity to earn endgame-tier loot from the highest difficulty modes, as well as one of the most distinctive player titles like Conqueror, Nightfalls are the go-to endgame activity for many, which adds to their popularity.
Destiny 2 Fighting Game Concept is Very Awesome
Historically, Bungie has added two new weapons to the Nightfall loot pool every season, with the majority of them being returning armaments from Destiny 1, such as Shadow Price and Hung Jury SR1. Season 16 will be the first time that Bungie is reissuing old Destiny 2 loot from the game's oldest content, featuring the Duty Bound auto rifle and the Silicon Neuroma sniper rifle.
Curiously, both of these weapons were tied to old Strikes in the first place. Duty Bound used to drop exclusively from Savathûn's Song on Titan, while Silicon Neuroma dropped from the Pyramidion on Io. Nightfalls were the best way to target-farm these weapons back in Destiny 2's first year, too, so veteran players may be excited to rediscover their old favorites with boosted Power Levels in Witch Queen.
