Destiny content creators have been getting hit with copyright takedowns for over a week now. The community, which has usually received support by the studio, has been utterly confused by this sudden change of heart. Big names like Aztecross and My name is Byf also received takedowns for some of their content. It appears to primarily be related to the OST, and it turns out that Bungie itself has been targeted by some of these takedowns, leaving everyone confused about what was going on.
The studio released a statement to clarify what had actually happened. "Over the past week, we have noticed an escalation in strikes against content creators in the Destiny 2 community, both big and small, and while some of the takedowns in the past have been legitimate violations of our established standards, many recent strikes were issued for content that does not violate those terms," says the statement.

At the time Bungie released a statement saying that it was aware of the recent series of copyright takedowns, the studio's own channels had been affected as well, and that neither Bungie nor any of its partners had taken these actions.
It went on to clarify that upon investigation, it was found that the recent takedowns were initiated by some "fraudulent accounts created to impersonate our IP protection service".
"Google has confirmed that the accounts that have submitted fraudulent legal requests to YouTube have been terminated and will no longer have access to Google products.
