After the TV series ended, Buffy's story continued in the form of the Buffy canonical comics, which provided a further five seasons' worth of material produced by Joss Whedon himself for fans. Allegations of misconduct towards Whedon, including towards Buffy actress Charisma Carpenter, have been one of the factors that have thrown the presumed upcoming reboot of the franchise into doubt.
