A teaser trailer for a Bloodbornekart racing game has been revealed, from the developer of the recently-released Bloodborne PS1 demake. This is great news for fans who love Mario Kart or Crash Team Racing, but who've found themselves wishing those games had Bloodborne's darker tone.
The idea of a Bloodborne racing game has been touted before, as Lilith Walther, developer of the Bloodborne PSX demake, which saw PS4-exclusive Bloodborne reimagined as a PS1 title, made an April Fools joke about the idea last year. In this joke, they announced that the Bloodborne demake was canceled in favor of a Bloodborne Kart game. Of course, this didn't turn out to be the case as Bloodborne PSX demake was released on January 31 this year, after 13 months in development. The faithful fan version of Bloodborne has been highly praised, with players loving the stripped-back, nostalgic take on FromSoftware's PS4 title.

As revealed by Lilith Walther on Twitter (via Eurogamer), the developer has begun work on Bloodborne Kart for real, even giving fans a first look at The Hunter and his ride. The official teaser trailer, which shows a stylish PS1-style motorcycle alongside The Hunter, reveals that the visuals will be in the same style as Bloodborne PSX. The developer also linked a video of Bloodborne Kart's title music by The Noble Demon, which masterfully combines the upbeat, cheerful soundtracks of Mario Kart with the ominous vibe of Bloodborne. Fans who are eager to pick up Bloodborne Kart immediately upon seeing this trailer may have to wait a while, as the teaser states that the game will be released "when it's done."
