Gamescom Opening Night Live snuck in a lovely, longer trailer for Blacktail - a game about witchcraft and the legend of Baba Yaga that we've seen in showcases before, but never to this extent.
Blacktail is a twist on the traditional Slavic myth of Baba Yaga, and follows a young girl cast out of her home due to accusations of witchcraft. The choices she makes as she wanders will determine what kind of witch she ultimately becomes - a guardian of the forest, or an utter terror.
We get a good look at a lot of Blacktail's combat in this video, specifically use of both the bow and arrow and the character's magical abilities fighting monsters and wild animals. We also get more teases about the morality system, where you can decide the fate of both the land and those who live in it.
Blacktail is developed by The Parasight and published by Focus Entertainment. It's planned for release this winter on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and Steam, with pre-orders up on Steam now.
