Marvel Studios' Ironheart is still a ways away from its debut on Disney Plus, but new details surrounding the show have been trickling in, particularly Black Panther: Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler's involvement with the series.
The upcomingMarvel Studios show will follow newcomer Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams/Ironheart, a genius inventor and MIT student who creates a suit that rivals Tony Stark's Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) armor. Chinaka Hodge (Amazing Stories,Snowpiercer) will serve as the series' head writer.
Marvel's Ironheart: What We Know So Far
In the Heights and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts star Anthony Ramos joined the Ironheart cast back in February, and he is rumored to play the main antagonist. Speaking to Extra at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, Ramos confirmed that Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever director Coogler will be attached the series in some way. «It's incredible people, Chinaka Hodge, Ryan Coogler and just, like, a dope squad… you know, Dominique Thorne… and I just feel blessed and grateful,» Ramos said of the «amazing project.»
«I'm so excited… I used to be in the gym like, 'C'mon, Marvel, call… c'mon, Marvel, call. Let's go!» Ramos added regarding joining Thorne and being a part of such a beloved cinematic universe as the MCU. It's still unclear what type of role Coogler will have on the series, as it could be anything from just a consultant to him actually producing or even stepping behind the camera. Still, it's exciting either way to have a talent like him involved with this story, and it's no surprise since Thorne's character will appear in the Black Panther sequel.
