A Switch version of Biomutant has been spotted online.
While not officially announced as coming to Nintendo’s console, Portuguese retailer Gaming Replay has a Switch version of the action RPG listed for release on October 25.
Developed by THQ Nordic studio Experiment 101, Biomutant was released in May 2021 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
The game is billed as “an open-world, post-apocalyptic Kung-Fu fable RPG, with a unique martial art styled combat system allowing you to mix melee, shooting, and mutant ability action”.
THQ Nordic parent company Embracer Group claimed last August that Biomutant had recouped all its costs in its first week of availability and had gone on to sell over one million copies.
That’s despite the game receiving lukewarm response from critics.
“Biomutant’s feature list seems to include everything a successful open-world action RPG needs,” according to VGC’s Biomutant review. “But journey through its towns, fields and bunkers, and there’s no intrigue in its exploration or weight in its relationship building. Not even a worthy combat challenge to hold everything together. With so many ideas left under-developed, it wastes a setting that had far more potential.”
Earlier this week it was claimed that a Nintendo Direct presentation focused on Zelda announcements will be held later this month.
Giant Bomb reporter Jeff Grubb suggested third party games coming to Switch will also be shown at event.
