Following the end of the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 event, Niantic has launched a special Battle League Catch Cup tournament with a unique ruleset. In June, Pokémon fans around the world got to celebrate the global Pokémon GO Fest. The annual event introduced a handful of new Shiny Pokémon into the mobile game and also featured Pokémon GO's Mythical Pokémon Shaymin. However, even though GO Fest is over, Niantic has launched a special Catch Cup for trainers who participated in the event.
To shake up Pokémon GO's PVP multiplayer Battle League mode, Niantic has introduced special cup tournaments each season that have unique rulesets. This means only Pokémon caught between June 4, 2022, at 10:00 AM and June 5, 2022, at 6:00 PM local time are eligible for the special Catch Cup.
