According to a report by DNA, quoting Sensor Tower, Garena Free Fire has emerged as the most downloaded mobile game worldwide for January 2022. The game has 24 million installs, representing a 51.6 percent increase from January 2021. And the country where the app was installed the most during this period is India at approximately 25.5 percent of its total downloads followed by Brazil at 11.7 percent.
However, it can be noted that the Indian government has recently banned Garena Free Fire in the country along with 53 other applications. The decision has been taken citing security concerns. The game was also removed for download from Google Play Store and App Store a day before the announcement of banning the app.
After Garena Free Fire, the most downloaded and installed mobile game was Subway Surfers. This game from Sybo Games has 23.7 million installs, which represents a 58.6 percent increase from the number of installs in the last one year. India is again the country where Subway Surfers has been installed the most, that is at 20.7 percent. The US at approximately 7 percent comes second.
According to the report, the other mobile games ranking in the top 5 most installed games worldwide in January 2022 include Roblox from Roblox Corporation, Candy Crush Saga from King, and Race Master 3D from Say Games.
It can be known that the global mobile games market generated 5.2 billion downloads across the App Store and Google Play in the first of the year 2022, marking an increase of 2.8 percent on yearly basis.
