Veteran Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy has died at the age of 66.
The American actor voiced the DC character in various media over a 30 year-period, including video games like the Batman Arkham and Injustice series, and most recently MultiVersus.
Diane Pershing, who co-starred with Conroy as the voice of Poison Ivy on Batman: The Animated Series, confirmed that he had passed away in a Facebook post on Friday.
“Very sad news: our beloved voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, died yesterday,” she wrote. “He’s been ill for a while but he really put in a lot of time at the cons, to the joy of all of his fans. He will be sorely missed not just by the cast of the series but by his legion of fans all over the world.”
Outside of Batman games, Conroy voiced characters in Crusaders of Might and Magic, Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne.
DC said it was “deeply saddened at the passing of Kevin Conroy, a legendary actor and the voice of Batman for multiple generations. He will be forever missed by his friends, family, and fans”.
In his final Twitter post last month, Conroy wished his followers a happy Halloween. He would have celebrated his 67th birthday later this month.
