has a lot of options for different endings, and some late-game decisions can lead to an ending for Gale that might indicate Baldur’s Gate is in for some serious trouble. Like all of the Baldur’s Gate 3 companions, some key decisions determine how Gale’s story will end. Thanks to the Netherese Orb in Gale’s chest that could explode and kill him, these decisions also have some pretty high stakes.
Gale is also one of the characters players can choose to play as. Doing so opens up some unique interactions that players may miss if they decide to play as someone else or their custom character. Some interactions and choices players miss out on have to do with Gale’s Tressym, Tara. The cat-like creature appears in the game regardless of character choice, but she actually joins the camp in act one if players choose Gale as their origin. This can lead to a unique choice at the end of the game, which could spell trouble for Faerûn.

One possible ending for Gale involves him reforging the Crown of Karsus and becoming a new god. Players who choose Gale as their origin will then get to walk around as god Gale during the epilogue and see what other characters think of his new status. Tara is less than happy about Gale’s decision and his new godly form and will implore Gale to give up his, but she isn’t optimistic about her chances. This proves to be true as players have no option but to agree, but they can choose to make Tara hairless.
If they do, Tara will get angry and end the conversation. She also shuts down any further attempts by Gale to talk to her. While this just seems like a somewhat silly and chaotic option for players to take, it does hint at the type of god Gale intends to be. This small glimpse at the use of his divinity could be a bad sign of his future plans.
