Bad Items in Great Vault? Invest in Future Tier Sets with the Creation Catalyst

Had a bad vault? Spent your entire weekend doing Mythic+ just to get shoulders with your worst stats? There may be a redemption to poorly itemized gear with the Creation Catalyst. When we reach Week 8 of 9.2, the Creation Catalyst will be activated. With the Catalyst, players will be able to convert pieces of gear into Catalyst pieces of the same item level. As a bonus, If the piece of gear you are upgrade follows an upgrade path, the result piece will still be upgradable the same way. For instance, if you upgrade a PvP item while at Combatant II ranking, once you climb, you will be able to upgrade your converted item the same way as other PvP pieces. If the piece of gear you are converting is on a tier slot, the result will be a tier piece. This means if you got a Chest piece this week from your Vault, in five weeks you will be able to convert this chest piece into a tier chest piece. This result piece will also retain any RNG rolls the original piece has like sockets or tertiary stats.

Creation Catalyst is the feature of Patch 9.2 that allows players to «craft» tier pieces. In fact, the Catalyst allows players to transform any item that is not a jewelery, trinket, nor weapon, into a complete different item with possibly different stats.

The Creation Catalyst will become available April 12th (US) / 13th (EU).
