Along with Secrets of the Spires, Massive Entertainment’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has received a new patch adding support for the PlayStation 5 Pro.
The most notable addition is 60 FPS Quality Mode, but there’s more going on than that. The internal resolution has also been bumped up while PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution acts as an upscaler. It’s more than likely that PSSR allows for hitting 4K output, while the increased internal resolution provides overall better image quality as the input.
Of course, given all the titles that have had issues with PS5 Pro, like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Alan Wake 2, and Silent Hill 2 remake (which fixed the issue by reportedly swapping PSSR with TSR), the results remain to be seen. Stay tuned for further updates.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is also available for Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out our review for the base game and the first DLC, The Sky Breaker.
