Atsushi Inaba takes over Platinum Games as president and CEO

There has been a change of leadership at renowned Japanese developer Platinum Games.
In a post on the studio's official website, president and CEO Kenichi Satao announced he stepped down from his role at the end of December after a five-year stint in the position.
He has been succeeded by Atsushi Inaba, who was previously the company's vice president and head of development.
Sato took over in 2016 as previous president and CEO Tatsuya Minami stepped down. During his time, Sato oversaw dramatic shifts in the way the company operates, including moving to owning its IP and plans to self-publish titles.
The developer also opened a new studio in Tokyo, received investment from Chinese giant Tencent and weathered the cancellation of Xbox exclusive Scalebound.
Sato will continue to support Platinum Games as an advisor.
Inaba, meanwhile, was one of Platinum Games' original co-founders, setting up the company alongside Hideki Kamiya and Shinji Mikami after leaving Capcom's Clover Studio.
In his own message about the change, he emphasised Platinum Games' continued belief in "creating innovative forms of play."
"As I move forward towards the new challenges of the future, I hope to provide more and more experiences for all our users to enjoy," he wrote.
