Tata Motors has expanded its electric cars lineup with the new Tiago EV. The company's electric vehicle (EV) portfolio includes the Tigor EV and Nexon EV. The new Tiago EV was unveiled in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs. 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The bookings for the new electric car will start next month, while deliveries are scheduled to begin in January 2023. The Tiago EV has been launched as the most affordable electric model in Tata Motors' portfolio. It is launched at a starting price of 8.49 lakh while the Tigor EV begins at ₹12.49 (ex-showroom) and the flagship Nexon EV priced at ₹14.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Do note that Only the first 10,000 customers will get a new Tata Tiago for ₹8.49 - 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom) as an introductory offer.
The new Tata Tiago EV has a permanent magnet synchronous motor (24 kW version) which produces 73.7 bhp and 114 nm of torque as well as another 19.2 kW version that produces 60.3 bhp and 110 nm of torque. There are two drive modes - City and Sport. Each mode has four different levels of regen settings available.
Further it also has a range of new and modern features like auto-headlamps, electric ORVMs with auto-fold, cruise control, an 8-speaker Harman infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is also digital instrument cluster, auto headlamps, leatherette seats, i-TPMS, smartwatch connectivity, electric tailgate (open) automatic climate control as standard, rain-sensing wipers, push-button start/stop, cooled glovebox, projector headlamps, and much more.
