It doesn't happen often that games go almost a year without patches and updates, so an unexpected update is a pleasant surprise. Team Asobi has delivered update 01.700.000 for the 3D platforming game Astro's Playroom on the PlayStation 5, 340 days since the game's last update.
The game that comes pre-installed on every PlayStation 5 console and essentially serves as a free tech demo for the DualSense controller has received its first update in nearly a year with the 01.600.000 update released way back in May 2021. The latest update for Astro's Playroom comes in at a meager 158 MB and contains stability and performance updates.

This is what has been changed in Astro's Playroom as of the latest update, according to Push Square:
Astro’s Playroom was a pack-in title for the PlayStation 5 at launch back in November 2020 as a celebration of all things PlayStation. The game is absolutely jam-packed with Easter eggs and references that pay homage to over 60 games from the past 26 years of PlayStation history. The game contains appearances by popular characters from multiple PlayStation franchises and characters from third-party developers too, such as Konami, Capcom, and Activision.
To continue the PlayStation celebratory theme, the game's four worlds are themed around the innards of the PlayStation 5. There's CPU Plaza which serves as the games' hub world and provides access to four worlds that are themed after a component of the console and a previous iteration of a PlayStation console. There's GPU Jungle (PlayStation 4), Cooling Springs (PlayStation 3), SSD Speedway (PlayStation 2), and Memory Meadow (PlayStation).
