Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Roguelike Forgotten Saga Gets Release Date
The release date of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s upcoming roguelike Forgotten Saga DLC has been revealed. Developer and publisher Ubisoft announced AC Valhalla’s Forgotten Saga DLC last month in its Assassin’s Creed 15th Anniversary Celebration video. The roguelike game mode will see Odin head into Niflheim to face off against Hel, the Norse goddess of death. Players will have to progress as much as they can during each run and take advantage of the skills and upgrades they retain after each death.
While there was criticism for technical issues at its launch back in November 2020, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was well received by both critics and players, becoming one of the best-selling games of 2020. The success of Assassin's Creed Valhalla led Ubisoft to continue supporting the game with updates and DLC a year and a half after it was released. This year, Ubisoft launched the third story expansion, Dawn of Ragnarok, as well as added the standalone version of its educational AC Valhalla Discovery Tour: Viking Age mode to additional platforms last month. The mode allows players to learn more about Medieval England and Norway through a series of guided tours.

Reddit user Adam135790 (via GameRant) shared a screenshot of a comment on a recent Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Forgotten Saga video on the Ubisoft Gameplan YouTube channel. In the comment, the Ubisoft Gameplan channel responded to the question of when the DLC is scheduled for release, revealing that it will be out on August 2, 2022. The channel also replied to similar comments using the same date, confirming the Forgotten Saga DLC will indeed be released next week.
