Ash Ketchum has just proved that you should never give up, as after 25 long years, he's finally close to achieving his dream. After so many years of hurt, Ash has defeated the previously undefeated Sinnoh Champion Cynthia, securing his place as one of the best Pokemon trainers in the world.
This comes as part of the latest episode of Pokemon Journeys. It also comes after 15 years of failing to best Cynthia - a ridiculously tough foe in both the anime and the games. It remains to be seen where Ash can go from here after such a big win, but it's possible that the release of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet will bring the Champion new challenges to face.

As reported by Comicbook.com, only one trainer stands in the way of Ash being the best Champion in the world: Leon. Introduced in Pokemon Sword & Shield, Leon is Ash's final opponent in the Masters 8 tournament. But with a win against Cynthia under his belt, it's very likely Ash will come out on top.
After years of pledging to be the very best, like no one ever was, this is an incredibly impressive win for Ash. It makes him the second most powerful trainer behind Leon, so he's never been closer to achieving his dream. And who knows? Maybe he'll go into the next generation of Pokemon with the title he's wanted for so long.
It's well worth tuning in to Pokemon Journeys, as Ash finally becoming the World Champion would be an accomplishment 25 years in the making. He's definitely got the team for it, fingers crossed he can stick the landing.
