Diablo Immortal players are pretty familiar with random occurrences – and I don't mean the game's notorious RNG. For instance, most games don't suddenly change the rules and put players in debt. After third-party Orb purchases became rampant, Blizzard revoked all purchases made by these Orbs and deducted it from players' accounts, leaving many of them in millions of in-game currency worth of debt. Still though, this next instance is a bit weirder.
It appears that clans that haven't even played the game for a while are somehow finding their way into the top-ten of the game's leaderboard (thanks, PCGN). Getting knocked out of the top-ten is bad enough, but giving up the spot for a clan that's essentially inactive is downright insulting. Players have taken to Reddit to vent their frustration at the coveted spots being taken up by clans who aren't even playing.

The issue seems to boil down to Diablo Immortal's tie-break system. The system appears to take losses into account at a higher priority than matches played, or when the last match was played. Hence, teams that are actually active but have lost matches are conceding their spots to teams that haven't even played matches.
It appears to be rampant, as one of the comments on the post said, "Happened to our server as well. The second strongest clan didn't make it to top 10 because they matched 3 times with us and lost all 3 times in the finals. Meanwhile two dead clans made it to top 10. It's ridiculous." This is clearly a major flaw in Blizzard's system and will hopefully be fixed soon.
