Since its launch in late July, Pikmin 4 has consistently topped weekly Japanese retail sales charts, though that streak is now broken. As per the newest weekly data released be Famitsu, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon has debuted on top of the newest charts. In fact, it occupies the two top positions, with the PS5 version selling over 115,000 units and the PS4 version selling over 47,000. Collectively, the game has sold over 163,000 units, making it the second-biggest launch for the mech action franchise in Japan, behind 2012’s Armored Core 5, though with digital sales included, it’s likely to have sold more than its predecessor.
Meanwhile, Pikmin 4 has been pushed down to the third spot with over 31,000 units sold, while the rest of the top 10 is populated by games that have become familiar fixtures in these charts, including the likes of Maro Kart 8 Deluxe, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, among others. Ring Fit Adventure has also re-entered the top 10 at No. 7.
On the hardware front, the Nintendo Switch continues to lead the way with over 71,000 units sold, while the PS5 trails behind by a considerable margin, having moved over 42,000 units over the course of the week.
