FromSoftware’s Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon received some new gameplay and impressions, with many publications going hands-on with the mech combat title. Unlike the developer’s Souls-like titles, the campaign follows a mission-based structure. The question then becomes: What happens when you die?
In Dark Souls, you lose currency, aka Souls, and you must return to the site of your death to reacquire them (failing which they’re gone forever). However, as Eurogamer notes in its preview, there’s no currency loss in Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. Missions even have checkpoints in the middle, where you can customize your AC and change out parts, weapons or internal components.
Given how challenging and dynamic the boss fights will be, it helps to provide an option for players to adjust their mechs if they fail.Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is out on August 25th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC. Stay tuned for more details en route to release.
