July 2024's PS Plus Essential games have been officially revealed, with another three PS5 and PS4 games up for grabs starting from the 2nd July. Now, we don't want to try and colour your perception right out of the gate, but we do think this is a somewhat shaky selection.
The headline act is Borderlands 3, and we're just left wondering who hasn't played Borderlands 3 since its initial PS4 release in 2019. Gearbox's looter shooter has been on sale countless times over the years, and it's always been popular.
It's a similar story with Among Us, which was obviously a massive deal not too long ago. And how about a sports game to round things out? NHL 24 obviously won't be for everyone, and reviews were very hit and miss when it launched last October.
But hey, there's every chance that you've missed out on popular picks like Borderlands 3 and Among Us until now, and we suppose this lineup is made specifically for you.

Robert (or Rob if you're lazy) has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Persona, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Trails, Tales — he's played 'em all. A little too much, some might say.
Yeah, this would be a «none of them, tbh» month for me. Just not interested in these games.
Among Us is a fun one though. Now you don't have to convince friends to buy it to play with them, so that's a positive imo, but I won't download any of these.
