After seeing the releases of iOS 15 and the subsequent iPhone 13 series, we’re all set for the iOS 16 announcement. Apple is expected to announce the new software update at Apple WWDC 2022 on June 6. Though it’s still a couple of days away, leaks and rumors have already taken over the internet. While the new iOS update is likely to bring a bunch of new exciting features, It is expected to drop support from a few older iPhone models. Apple tries to support most of the iPhone models in every new iOS update but there are a few older models every year that couldn’t make it to the list. iOS 15 which was released in 2015 had dropped support from the iPhones older than iPhone 6S. Apple drops iOS update support from older models due to the hardware limitations of the camera, or the chip inside certain iPhone models. Now an early leak suggests that the iPhone 6S along with the iPhone 6S Plus and original iPhone SE won't get iOS 16. This means the new iOS update will bring everything from the iPhone 7 onwards i.e, iPhone 7 series, iPhone 8 series, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone SE 3 and others. Every iOS release comes with a major feature and a bunch of minor improvements as well. If you still have an iPhone 8 for instance, you may get some of the small features in iOS 16 when it arrives.
