Apple Arcade continues to expand its library of microtransaction-free games month to month, complimenting its already-thriving marketplace of free-to-play titles on the iOS App Store. While the service has gone through some changes since 2019, shifting focus away from more traditional gaming experiences toward engagement-focused experiences in an effort to retain subscribers, there's no argument exciting games continue to come to Apple Arcade. September 2022 is no different, with four new Apple Originals recently announced.
The most prolific Apple Original arriving for Apple Arcade in September is the highly anticipated spin-off game Shovel Knight Dig. In Shovel Knight Dig, players will dig their way through procedurally generated levels, meeting friends and foes both familiar and new. The procedural generation will allow for a unique system of storytelling that also meets Apple Arcade's expectations for an endlessly replayable gameplay experience. Note that Shovel Knight creator Yacht Club Games partnered with mobile and web game developer Nitrome for Shovel Knight Dig.
Apple Far Out Event Dated for September
Another interesting project in September is named Hanx101 Trivia. This is a game developed in partnership with none other than celebrity actor Tom Hanks. Hanks will be challenging Hanx101 Trivia players to answer questions in a variety of categories, whether they want to test their abilities against themselves or against other players in head-to-head standoffs. Coincidentally, this will also be the very first trivia game released through Apple Arcade.
The remaining two new Apple Originals planned for Apple Arcade in September are Horizon Chase 2 and Garden Tails: Match and Grow. Horizon Chase 2 is a racing game
