With Overwatch having several seasonal events, and being available to play for over six years, it is no surprise that dozens of interesting cosmetics have appeared over that time. Though D.Va’s mech ensures that she gets plenty of cool looks, and Genji being a cyborg ninja guarantees awesome costumes, these are not the only two characters to get stellar alternate outfits over the years.
As many fans will surely know given the controversy surrounding the decision, Overwatch will be retired in just a few weeks’ time. The servers will be shut down shortly before October 4, with the launch of Overwatch 2 marking a bold new era for the hero shooter. With skins carrying over to the sequel, though, it makes sense that players would want to gather as many standout outfits as possible before the next game arrives. Fortunately, the ongoing credits event provides a final opportunity to get any of the event skins that have been added to Overwatch over the years. While there are hundreds of designs to pick from, a few in particular could be worth spending hard-earned credits on.
When Does Overwatch 1 Shut Down its Servers?
While plenty has been said about Genji’s Overwatch 2 Mythic skin and how it is customizable, essentially making it multiple skins in one, Blizzard has released a similar outfit in the past. Though Face Changer Sombra can not be customized, and the faces change randomly throughout the match, seeing her masks swap is a lot of fun for her teammates and makes it feel like the skin offers more than the usual cosmetic. Though Overwatch being an FPS means players do not see these changing faces, a special marker on Sombra’s weapon notifies Face Changer users of which face is currently equipped.
