Apex Legends recently confirmed that Mad Maggie, a war criminal in Fuse’s backstory, is coming to the games in Season 12. In the recent season 12 gameplay trailer and in a blog post from Respawn Entertainment, the company reveals that Mad Maggie has been sentenced to die in the Apex Games following a “speedy and fair” trial. Now, not just more of her backstory and connection to the games has been revealed, but her abilities too.
Mad Maggie joins the growing list of assault characters in Apex Legends, and it seems she can do a little bit of everything. Abilities have only grown more complex in recent seasons, and the same can be said of Mad Maggie—however, it’s not clear if her “little bit of everything” approach will make her weak, viable, or OP in the meta.

Mad Maggie’s passive ability is called Warlord’s Ire, and it gives her the ability to scan enemies she’s dealt damage to and move faster with a shotgun. It’s not certain yet how long the scan lasts in an Apex Legends match, but it’ll likely be handy in close-quarters combat when an enemy is dipping in and out of a building. Her tactical takes her passive to the next level though.
Mad Maggie’s tactical is called the Riot Drill, in which she fires a drill that burns enemies through obstacles (such as Rampart’s shields). The big passive-tactical one-two here is that her drill damages enemies and thus, because of her passive, can scan them as well. So, not only does Mad Maggie have a damage-dealing ability, but she can also scan as well—likely in a manner similar to Apex Legends character Fuse.
