Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania star, Evangeline Lilly, says the sequel may be the best one yet. Lilly plays Hope van Dyne, a.k.a. The Wasp in the Ant-Man films, appearing in the first two (and now the third), as well as Avengers: Endgame. Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is directed by Peyton Reed, who directed the first two Ant-Man films, and co-stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang, and Jonathan Majors as Kang The Conquerer.
2015'sAnt-Man and 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp both had good critical reception, scoring 83 percent and 87 percent, respectively. In terms of box office, both films scored in the mid-range for the MCU, pulling in a global haul of $519M and $622M, which is still a strong showing for mostly obscure characters. While the franchise has yet to enter the $1 billion dollar club, the profits and popularity were enough to merit another sequel, which Lilly is talking up as an even better entry than the others.

Talking to The Digital Fix, Lilly discussed the difficulties in making Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, particularly at the height of Covid, saying the film was "the hardest one" they've made thus far, addressing how it was the only one in the series made during Covid lockdowns. The actress went on to say that the lockdowns made it incredibly complicated, adding a lot of stress in an impersonal environment. Lilly said that the «intensity level is really, really high» due to having so much to do in such a short amount of time, but that the trying experience paid off in the end, as she says it may be the best one yet:
