Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants is coming to Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC on April 23. The arcade game being ported to new platforms is just the latest development in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles news.
Recently,Fortnite introduced a TMNT-themed event that added weapons, items, emotes, backblings, and other cosmetics inspired by the popular franchise. Shortly before the event, back in December, fans could also purchase skins of the four Turtles within Fortnite. Now TMNT fans have something new to look forward to.
TMNT Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants is a new version of the arcade game of the same name, originally released in 2017 by Raw Thrills. The game is based on the 2012 TMNT TV series and features the same voice actors in Seth Green, Sean Astin, Rob Paulsen, and Greg Cipes. It costs $30 and includes new features that the arcade version didn't have, such as three new stages and six new boss fights. Wrath of the Mutants also includes 4-player local co-op. While playing, fans can team up with various characters from the franchise like Metalhead and Leatherhead, and battle against enemies like Bebop, Krang, Baxter Stockman, Chrome Dome, Fishface, Rocksteady, Tiger Claw, and Shredder. In total, Wrath of the Mutants features nine stages and 19 boss fights.
It's still unclear whether the updated version of Wrath of the Mutants will be able to rank among the best TMNT games. It certainly has its work cut out for it, with modern hits like Shredder's Revenge and 90s classics like Turtles In Time standing in its way.
TMNT gaming fans might have additional releases to look forward to this year. Following the box-office success of 2023's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, Outright Games announced it was working on a TMNT game inspired by the movie. Since the announcement, Outright has remained quiet on the matter but previously stated that the game is set to release sometime this year.
