An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has posted a photo of Gulliver spawning in front of their beach bar. The well-traveled seagull has been a staple NPC in Nintendo's social simulation video game series since the first installment. Gulliver will reward the player with special furniture, most often unique artifacts from his travels. New Horizons expanded on Gulliver by introducing a character strikingly similar to Gulliver: Captain Gullivarrr, a pirate version of the seagull.
Both Gulliver and Captain Gullivarrr present the player with a quest before awarding their special items of furniture. The player will encounter one of the seagulls passed out on their island's beaches and must wake the bird up to start the quest. After waking Gulliver or Gullivarrr, the player will be tasked with finding five lost communicator parts to help the stranded seagull contact their crew. After completing the quest, the next day Gulliver or Gullivarrr will send the player a letter of thanks that includes the furniture reward. Though the quest is straightforward, the spawn location of Gulliver or Gullivarrr is random, often leading to some interesting scenarios. For example, one pair of players found that Gulliver washed up on their wedding-themed beach, making it appear as if Gulliver was crashing the couple's wedding celebration.
