Renowned actor and director Andy Serkis will finally make an animated adaptation of George Orwell's dystopian novella, Animal Farm. Serkis is best known for acting roles like Gollum in The Lord of the Rings and Caesar in the Planet of the Apes reboot, but he's also done some work behind the camera. In 2017, Serkis made his directorial debut with the biographical film Breathe. For a decade now, Serkis has planned to helm Animal Farm, and now that project is moving forward at long last.
According to Deadline, Serkis will finally make an animated adaptation of Orwell's dystopian novella, Animal Farm. Nicholas Stoller adapted the screenplay for the project, which will partner with Aniventure and Serkis' company, The Imaginarium. Serkis has been working for nearly a decade to get this project off the ground, sharing that he hopes to bring Orwell's powerful, humorous and emotional tale to life in an extraordinary way.
