Among Us was and still is one of the most ubiquitous games of the past couple of years. Its popularity skyrocketed seemingly out of the blue, which allowed the developer, Innersloth, to dominate the niche and grow it into a veritable franchise that's just about to enter its next stage of evolution.
Naturally, the next step for Among Us is its long-awaited VR entry, which just received an all-new gameplay trailer showcasing what the game looks like from the perspective of Yellow, a particularly unlucky Crewmate. While the premise alone is extremely intriguing as a setup for a VR multiplayer game, the new trailer does a great job of highlighting the platform's strengths, such as gesturing.

Though Among Us VR certainly needs strong gameplay features, it seems that Innersloth is intent on underlining VR's biggest strengths with this particular iteration of the beloved game. To that end, the trailer shows off virtually every aspect of the core gameplay loop, underlining just how much more immersive and interesting even the simplest interactions might be. Whereas the base game's avatars are cute enough in their own right, their VR variants can gesture and even make use of limited body language options, which is an extraordinary feature.
As a follow-up to the original Among Us VR gameplay trailer, the new outing is significantly less ominous thanks to its focus on player interactions and minigames themselves. The fact that there's a killer loose on the ship is, however, every bit as important as it is in the base game. In fact, switching over from a faux-isometric perspective to a proper first-person viewpoint makes otherwise tense sequences even scarier than before.
