PS5 DualSense controllers have been heavily discounted as part of Amazon‘s Prime Day event, with some as much as 30% off.
In the US, Amazon is offering a 16% discount on the white DualSense controller, which is currently available for $59 (normally $69.99).
The savings are bigger in the UK, with the Midnight Black and white controllers reduced by 22% and 21% respectively. The Cosmic Red colourway also sees a 30% discount.
Two of the newest colours to be added to the DualSense line-up, Starlight Blue and Nova Pink, are also heavily discounted at 24% off and 29% off respectively.
Those interested in picking up a new DualSense should be aware that the second wave of coloured controllers (Starlight Blue, Nova Pink and Galactic Purple) feature better internal components, accordingto several hardware breakdowns.
The most significant change is the new springs that are used in the triggers. According to TronicsFix, the newer springs are longer and appear more robust. Weak springs were a common failure point on launch and launch window PS5 controllers.
An investigation last year into why joystick drift occurs in DualSense and other controllers suggested PS5’s analogue sticks have an operating life of around 417 hours.
Amazon Prime members can now claim over 30 ‘free’ PC games until July 13, including Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, Grid Legends, Need for Speed Heat and three Star Wars titles.
