A Mass Effect fan recently commissioned a watercolor painting of the dreaded Reapers from their father, and the result captures the scourge of the Milky Way Galaxy quite well. The Reapers were the main recurring threat in the first three Mass Effect games, and Commander Shepard was tasked with gathering a rag-tag team of allies to stop these terrifying machines from completing their goal of eliminating all organic life in the universe. Throughout BioWare's beloved sci-fi RPG series, the Reapers command an army of varied followers, including Mass Effect's zombie-like Husks and insectoid Collectors, but the squid-shaped main Reaper ships have cemented their status as one of modern gaming’s most frightening and infamous villains — especially certain Reapers like the first Mass Effect’s Sovereign and Mass Effect 2’s Collector-controlling Harbinger.
Naturally, Mass Effect's Reapers have inspired plenty of impressive fan art from devoted players, ranging from drawings of the sentient warships themselves to concept art imagining what the other races of the Mass Effect franchise would look like as indoctrinated servants of the Reapers. Some Mass Effect fans have created LEGO models of the Reapers alongside other Mass Effect ships like the Citadel Fleet’s Destiny Ascension, and a Valheim player even recreated Sovereign using that particular game’s impressive building function.
