Pokemon Scarlet andViolet's third trailer was finally released earlier today during the August Pokemon Presents, a recurring event held by The Pokemon Company and streamed on its official YouTube channel. After months of silence, The Pokemon Company showcased many new features of the Gen 9 games and the Paldea region, starting with the various travel forms for both Koraidon and Miraidon, the two Legendary creatures for Pokemon Scarlet andViolet, respectively. Another juicy detail was the reveal of the new battle gimmick for Pokemon Scarlet andViolet, which is called Terastallization — an aptly-crafted Poke Ball imbues Pokemon with the power of Paldea's crystals, allowing them to change their type and boost the power of their moves.
Of course, one of the focal points of the video was to showcase three new Pokemon coming in Gen 9, namely Fidough, Cetitan, and Paldean Wooper. These creatures are all compelling for their own reasons, with Fidough being a Fairy-type puppy pocket monster, Cetitan being the first new whale Pokemon in some time, and Paldean Wooper being the first Ground/Poison hybrid since Gen 1. While the new Pokemon shown in the trailer stop there, Pokemon Scarlet andViolet will feature many returning Pokemon that the video included in some capacity.
