Pokemon Scarlet and Violet recently received a new trailer at the closing ceremony of the Pokemon World Championships, but unfortunately for fans, it did not reveal too much. It showcased a new item for battle, as well as an impressive use of the Tera abilities. Essentially, in a battle between Tyranitar and Gallade, Tyranitar changed its type to ghost, avoiding damage from Gallade's Close Combat, and then used a Ghost-type Tera Blast to OHKO the Gallade. It was impressive, but it was short. And in this new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer, only one new Pokemon was revealed.
Cyclizar is a Dragon/Normal type and essentially a pre-evolution (or something) to Koraidon and Miraidon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It's clearly related to the box legendaries, thanks to the wheel embedded in its chest, but since Koraidon and Miraidon are Paradox Pokemon, the exact nature of their relationship is unknown. It's probably best to think of it as a pre-evolution for now until Game Freak reveals more details. Its Dragon/Normal typing also fits well with the rumored Dragon/Fighting and Dragon/Electric types for Koraidon and Miraidon, respectively.

Many have theorized, at least in concept, that Koraidon has something to do with Infrared lights and that Miraidon has something to do with Ultraviolet lights. Whether this is more than a color scheme theory remains to be seen, but based on that, one fan noted how Cyclizar's Axew-like color scheme actually falls in between these two colors.
This is an important detail and could very well tie into Pokemon Scarlet
