In 2022 and early 2023, gamers will see the release of a few new science-fiction FPS titles. From the DOOM-inspired Warhammer 40K: Boltgun to the odd and unique High On Life from the creators of Rick and Morty, players wanting to escape to distant worlds and see strange alien species will have plenty of options coming their way. Now, another sci-fi title has been revealed, coming from Creative Assembly, the studio best known for the Total War franchise and Alien Isolation.
Alien Isolation was a well-received title, taking the Alien franchise back to its horror roots with a game that trapped the player inside a space station with a Xenomorph threat. The game was so good that other sci-fi horror games like the upcoming title Routine have been compared to Alien Isolation. After producing a successful sci-fi horror game, Creative Assembly's Studio Director Gareth Edmondson and Creative Director Alistair Hope have stated that the company is working on an FPS title.

So far, this new title doesn't have a name, and there's not a release date attached to it either. However, there have been some statements from Hope and Edmondson about the upcoming game. This project will boast a «drive for attention to detail and authenticity,» says Hope, alongside understanding the «source material.» It is interesting that Hope makes a statement regarding source material, as Chief Product Officer for Creative Assembly Rob Bartholomew added that the IP for the game is new, and «it's a world that we're creating.»
