An unnamed man in his 30s stole a truck in San Antonio, but unbeknownst to him, the owners left an AirTag inside the vehicle, likely to easily track it down in case it got stolen. Unfortunately, the story took a different route exceptionally quickly as the owners decided to use lethal force, which resulted in the loss of life.
The incident was reported by KSAT, and according to AppleInsider, the truck owners did not wait for law enforcement to make their move, and decided to move with haste. Using the AirTag that was left in the truck, they tracked down the thief to a shopping center located on Southeast Military Drive. The discovery led to an ugly unraveling of events, as a gunfire ensued, with the truck owners ending up on the right side of the track; the thief was not as lucky. Police suspect that it may have been possible for the criminal to have pulled out his firearm, which resulted in a direct retaliation. So far, the truck owners have not been charged over the incident, as an investigation is ongoing, with the police attempting to conclude if the suspect was armed in the first place.
