Fans eagerly awaiting A Plague Tale: Requiem‘s release should tread carefully online as new spoilers are doing the rounds and more are likely to follow.
Physical copies of the game have been mistakenly shipped early to some customers, and are appearing in some retail stores, leading to videos of the game’s opening few hours appearing online.
Significant spoilers have been posted online and are circulating on social media.
Asobo Studio’s game, which is the sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence, will be released on October 18, 2022, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Switch in the form of a cloud version.
A collector’s edition will also be available, which includes a resin statue, a brooch modelled after Hugo’s feather, three lithographs and a short LP of two tracks from the game. This edition will be exclusively available from publisher Focus Entertainment’s online store.
A Plague Tale: Requiem was first revealed in June 2021 during Microsoft‘s E3 conference.
Microsoft has also confirmed that the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch, for console, PC and cloud.
“After the original game’s epic finale to a heartbreaking story of resilience, players will embark on the emotional journey’s second chapter,” Asobo’s head of communications Aurélie Belzanne previously said of Requiem.
“They will follow Amicia and her brother Hugo on a perilous new quest, doing whatever it takes to survive a brutal, uncaring world.
