A restored, autographed version of Apple's first home computer will soon be re-sold, granting technology and history enthusiasts the chance to own a legendary collector's item. The device will sell alongside several accessories and era-appropriate memorabilia via online auction. That mean's it'll be available to anyone, assuming they've got the dollars to spend.
The perfectly-named Apple Computer 1 was Apple's first consumer product. Tons of lore surrounding its creation exists and this computer serves as the centerpiece in the origin stories of Apple's co-founders, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. As the story goes, both engineers sold various personal items to fund the Apple-1 project and built it in a garage. It was first sold in 1976 for a suggested retail price of $666.66, and typically only shipped with a single board sporting ports for things like a keyboard, monitor, and an audio cassette recorder (for portable data storage).

However, the Apple-1 going on sale this week will include much more. The bundle was curated and restored by Jimmy Grewal, founder of The AAPL Collection: a Dubai-based collection company specializing in Apple devices. Typically, items like this would sell at exclusive auctions or be donated or sold to museums but The AAPL Collection's website explains that Grewal's Apple-1 will be sold on eBay, from June 2 through June 12. Bidding will start at about $485,000 but other Apple-1's have sold for more than double that amount, so it won't be cheap.
For very well-off collectors, this Apple-1 is the 'Holy Grail.' In addition to being one of only a double-digit number of Apple-1's left in the world, this model was signed by Steve
